Republican Vice-Presidential nominee Paul Ryan, along with 215 other Republicans, co-sponsored the “No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act” which would prohibit federal funding of abortions except in instances of “an act of forcible rape or, if a minor, an act of incest.” If it had passed and been signed into law, this would have meant no exceptions for women raped while unconscious, drugged, in a coma or suffering from physical or mental impairment.
